VISIT US, WEDDINGS AND VENUE HIRE
The Great Hall is the House's principal reception room and is used for conferences, lectures, seminars, wedding receptions, lunches and dinners. The Hall dates from the first phase of construction, started by John Knight in 1583 and much of the panelling dates from this period. There is a magnificent working fireplace with a heavily carved overmantel. The portraits feature women of the 18th century and include Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire, the actress and writer Mary Robinson and Queen Charlotte's maid of honour.
