SUPPORT US
There are a number of ways to make a one-off or regular donation:
You can make an online donation to Chawton House Library using your credit/debit card. This secure donation service is managed by CAF and WorldPay.
Coming soon: If you would like to make regular donations to us, you will shortly be able to set up a Direct Debit mandate online. This will save administration costs and, because we will know how much money is coming in, will enable us to plan our work more effectively.
You can phone 01420 541010 if you wish to donate to Chawton House Library by credit card.
Please download and complete the Gift Aid Declaration form [PDF, 260KB] and return it to us, with your cheque, at the stated address.
Thanks to Gift Aid, during 2024/2007 UK charities received an extra £830m to fund their work. If everyone had used Gift Aid, it could have been much, much more.
Using Gift Aid means that for every £1 donated, Chawton House Library gets an extra 28p from the Inland Revenue, helping your donation to go further. Gift Aid allows us to reclaim the basic rate of income tax you've paid on the donation. If you are a UK tax payer, this means £10 can be turned into £12.80, £100 into £128 and £1,000 into £1,280.
On top of this, higher rate taxpayers are eligible to reclaim as much as £23 from the taxman for every £100 donated to charity, by including details of their Gift Aid donations on their Self Assessment form.
