VISIT US, WEDDINGS AND VENUE HIRE
The Oak Room has superb views over the drive, the south lawns, the Ha Ha and the Wilderness. It is used for meetings, tutorials, lunches, dinners and small intimate weddings. It was formerly the Ladies' Withdrawing Room in the early 1800s and Jane Austen and her family are known to have spent time in here. The room was remodelled around 1900 by Montagu Knight, who installed full-length panelling and the malmstone fireplace designed by his friend Edwin Lutyens.
